Fronius is a European brand that has been dominating the global market since its first release in 1994. While it has been known as one of the leading inverter brands in Australia, it will still encounter problems over time. Fortunately, we have expert electricians that can help you in resolving Fronius inverter problems.
Fronius Inverter Fault Diagnostics
One of the benefits of owning a Fronius inverter is how smart and independent the system is. It can perform self-diagnosis and will immediately inform the owner about the problem, which significantly saves time. The diagnosis is interpreted into different fault and error codes which are classified in different categories:
Class 1
A brief issue often caused by the public grid
Class 3
A short-term problem that usually occurs when feeding energy to the grid
Class 4
Issues that require the intervention of an accredited electrician, installer, or engineer
Class 5
Problems that may cause power restrictions but do not generally interfere with energy feeding
Common Fronius Inverter Problems and What to Do
Each problem category has corresponding solutions that you or a professional electrician can perform.
Error Code 102
This inverter problem occurs during a feed-in operation and is caused by grid voltage that is higher than 255V per 10-minute period.
Solution: If you are using Fronius Primo, Symo or Galvo solar inverters, the average voltage should be at 255V with a 10-minute period. Some grid service providers increase it to 2557V, which usually solves the issue. However, this can only be done by an accredited electrician from your local electricity provider.
If you’re still experiencing the problem after trying the solution mentioned, then you might have a voltage problem in your system. Contacting your original installer is the best thing to do so they can check the issue for you.
Error Code 567
If your system prompts this error, it means your voltage in the grid is higher than it should be. When this happens, your Fronius inverter will automatically go into Grid Voltage-Dependent Power Reduction (GVDPR), which significantly reduces its power output. This is necessary to maintain the grid voltage at an acceptable amount.
Solution: Since the Error Code 567 and Error Code 102 are similar, the solution for State 102 may apply to State 567 as well.
Error Code 314
This issue indicates that there is a current sensor calibration timeout. It may also mean that there’s an internal system error.
Solution: Typically, restarting the inverter fixes the issue but if the problem persists, it’s best to contact a professional to assess the issue.
Error Code 509
If you encounter this error, it means no energy is fed into the grid for 24 hours. One reason for this could be solar panels that are obstructed or covered in dirt. If clearing the area didn’t solve the problem, it’s best to contact accredited electricians like us.
If you’re encountering any of the common Fronius inverter problems, don’t hesitate to call Deionno Electrical.
